	What is Banner?
		Banner is an integrated administrative software application that will replace Meharry's current SCT Plus system. MMC will implement four modules within Banner: Finance, Human Resources, Student including Registrar and Admissions, and Financial Aid. Because the modules all share a common Oracle database, Banner provides the features and processing capabilities needed for student information (admissions, registration, grades, etc.), personnel information (employee benefits, salary/deduction history, etc.), financial information (AR, AP, Grants, etc.) and financial aid information (needs analysis, packaging, etc.). Though information on Banner is shared, many users are allowed only to look up (query) specific information. When you perform a query, you retrieve information from the database and display that information on the screen. Banner has a variety of tools that let you search by name and automatically retrieve associated information. Banner also has sophisticated security measures to make sure that only authorized individuals have access to specific data.

	What is WebFOCUS?
		WebFOCUS is a fully-integrated Web based software that will provide Banner standard and self-service reports to ad-hoc queries, allowing departments to generate their on reports when needed.

	How do I get a Banner UserID?
		Both you and your supervisor must complete and sign a Banner \ WebFOCUS Access form. The completed form is then submitted to the appropriate Banner Module Leader for review and approval. Instructions and download of the form are available by Clicking Here.

	I forgot my Banner password. How do I get in now?
		You must call the OIT Help Desk at extension HELP (4357) to have your Banner (Oracle) password reset. Make sure to tell the Help Desk staff that you need your Banner (Oracle) password reset.

	How do I change my Banner password?
		From the Banner main menu window, type GUAPSWD in the GO Bar and press the Enter key. The Oracle Password Change Form window will appear. In the Oracle Password line type your old password. Next press TAB key twice to move your text cursor to the New Oracle Password line. Enter a new password, then press the TAB key to move the text cursor to the Verify Password line. Enter the new password a second time. Note that passwords must have at least 4 and no more than 7 characters, and must begin with a letter. Click OK. You should get a message saying: "Password has been changed - Reconnecting"
