There are a many reasons why you cannot login. Some common reasons are as follows:
- You are logged into the wrong database.
- You have not attended the required training, holding up the processing of your Banner account.
- If you are a new employee, your Banner account form was not completed properly or has not been returned to the Office of Information Technology.
- You forgot your password or logged in with an incorrect password; and possibly that your userid did not get set up the same as your network userid.
If you have successfully logged on to the Banner system before, contact the OIT Help Desk to reset you password.

What do I need to do if I try to log in and get a blank screen? |
The most likely reason for this is that an application called the Java Virtual Machine is not installed on your computer. Contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance. Once the application is installed, you should be able to access Banner with your userid and password. |

How come I cannot print in Banner? |
It is possible that your PC has not been setup to print from the Banner system to the network printer in your work area, or you are trying to print to a printer that is not connected to a network. Banner is not designed to print to a printer connected directly to an individual PC. |

Banner locked up on me. What do I do? |
Like any computer software, you may experience being "frozen". Your session is locked up and there is no warning and no way to recover.
First, try to close your web browser software. If you can, try logging back on to the Banner system. If this is unsuccessful, close all running software applications and log off the network and then log back in. Now try again to login to Banner.
If you are not able to close the web browser, you will need to end the session by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete (at the same time), then click on the Task Manager button. When the Task Manager window appears, select Banner from the list and click the End Task button. Now click the OK button to exit the Task Manager. Now try to login to Banner.
If you are unsuccessful in logging back into the Banner system, close all software applications and reboot the PC.

Why do I lose my Banner window when I link to other web sites?
If you lose your Banner window when you click on a web link to another web site, you need to reset an option in Internet Explorer so that open browser windows are not reused from other applications.
In your browser, go to the Tools\Options menu and select Internet Options. Next, click on the Advanced tab. In the "Browsing" category, uncheck Reuse windows for launching shortcuts, and click OK.
